Different lighting effects can always give people a visual impact and create a variety of different effects.
A variety of lights can be seen in many places other than those used in daily life. Such as fish tanks, aquariums, fountains, garden landscapes, swimming pools, lakes, park squares and other places can see the effect of lighting. Most of the lights that are often used in these occasions are in contact with water, so we call them "underwater lights".
1. How to install and use underwater lights correctly?
The rated voltage of the lamp is the electrical parameter standard of the lamp, which directly determines the application environment of the lamp, and the actual working voltage must be consistent with the rated voltage. Otherwise, either because the voltage is too high and the light source is burned out, or because the voltage is too low, the lighting effect of the light cannot be achieved.
Generally, underwater lights use low-voltage safety voltage, which involves low-voltage and high-current power supply, which will affect the voltage drop of the line. The voltage drop at the end of each line must be calculated first, and redundancy should be reserved in advance. Secondly, the connection box or 12V low-voltage transformer must be at least 20 cm high from the water level line of the swimming pool, 20 cm above the ground, and at least 120 cm from the edge of the water. Within 150 cm of the pool, the lighting components and other metal parts should be well connected with wires and well grounded. Underwater light circuits must have leakage protection sockets and circuit breakers. Before maintaining and repairing the underwater light, the power supply connecting the underwater light and the circuit breaker must be cut off.
When installing underwater lights, you should consult the local architectural design authority to ensure that the swimming pool electrical system meets the standards before proceeding with the following operations:
1. The installation location of the lamp should be a vertical wall, and the top of the lamp should be 45.5 cm lower than the normal horizontal plane;
2. Wrap at least 120 cm of wire behind the underwater light, so that the underwater light can be taken out of the water for maintenance and repair when the swimming pool is full of water.
3. Reserve a wire of at least 15 cm long at the junction box for connecting lines.
4. After connecting the two wires to the corresponding positions in the junction box, close the junction box cover and seal it tightly.
5. Slightly turn the light to make sure the light is fastened to the mounting bracket.
6. Underwater hanging lights with stainless steel shells must be grounded.
7. The swimming pool underwater light can only be used when immersed in water to avoid long-term dry burning and damage to the light source.
8. A safety isolation transformer must be used
It is recommended that when you install or repair the underwater light, you must ask a qualified electrician or a professionally qualified maintenance person to install it, and install it in accordance with the local official license regulations.
2. What are the national or industry standard requirements for underwater lights?
In the international standard IEC60364-7-702 "Low-voltage electrical installations--Part 7-702: Requirements for special installations or places--Swimming pools and fountains", the national standard for lamps and lanterns is divided into four categories of protection against electric shock: namely Class O , Class I, Class II, Class III. The national standard clearly stipulates that the underwater lighting fixtures in swimming pools, fountains, leisure pools and other similar places should be protected against electric shock Class III lamps. The task voltage of its external and internal circuits should not exceed 12V.
3. What are the safety performance requirements for underwater lights?
When choosing to install underwater lights, for the selection of lamps, first pay attention to the waterproofness of the lamps, power supply voltage, power consumption of a single lamp, and then calculate the wire diameter of the cables. According to international standard rules, the waterproof level of lamps is divided into 8 grades. The 6th grade is the water splash type, the 7th grade is the watertight type, and the 8th grade is the pressurized watertight type. The 8th grade is the highest, and the waterproof grade of the LED underwater light should reach the 8th grade requirement, and its marking symbol is IPX8. According to the national standard rules, the dustproof grade of lamps and lanterns is divided into 6 grades. Among them, the 6th grade is the highest, and the dustproof grade of the LED underwater light should reach the 6th grade, and its marking symbol is IP6X. (Example: All the underwater light products produced by Fasloh have IP68 certification. What’s wrong with IP68? According to the above description, the product has a waterproof level of 8 and a dust-proof level of 6.)
4. Is the underwater light harmful to the human body?
Under normal circumstances, it is safe to use LED lights as underwater lights. When the voltage reaches 36V and the current is 6A, it will cause life-threatening to the human body. It is not difficult to find through calculation that the current generated by connecting a 50W lamp at a low voltage of 12V is 4.16A, while most of the LED lamps are within 25W. Generally, manufacturers will configure a variety of lamps with different wattages for customers to choose. We will provide customers with detailed product installation instructions and free technical consulting services. If customers need, they can also arrange for professionals to assist in the installation.
Therefore, as long as it is used in accordance with the specifications and requirements within the allowable range of safe current, and the underwater light is regularly maintained, it will not cause any accidental damage. Only improper installation operations that do not strictly follow the specifications will lead to electric shock, property damage to pool users or installers, serious injury and other adverse effects.
